An inventive writer. A strategic thinker. A new media adventurer. A dynamic speaker. A passionate mentor. Barry’s rare combination of talents have taken him across the country, through the award-shows and into leadership positions at some of the most accomplished advertising agencies in the country.
Valued as a creative who writes campaigns that do more than sell, they create evangelists for a brand, Barry is responsible for some of the best work in categories as varied as Automotive, Financial, Technology, Energy, Health Care, Package Goods and Tourism. Most recently, Barry has served as creative director on brands such as Clearwire, Australia Tourism, Epson, APS, Wells Fargo and Infiniti Automobiles.
A truly modern creative, Barry is not content to work in the mediums of the past. His excellence in television, radio and print is equaled by his passion for conceiving and building websites, rich media display advertising, social media marketing platforms, branded content and viral campaigns. His goals are simple: To create content instead of commercials. To build the next YouTube, not the next viral video. To shape every aspect of a client’s brand experience – whether it’s in a store, a video game, a song, a movie, a TV show, a concert or a live event.
In addition, Barry is the rare creative as comfortable in a business strategy meeting as he is in a creative brainstorming session. Over his 20-year career, Barry’s clients have come to rely on his guidance on issues as diverse as product development, governmental lobbying, cost efficiency and crisis management.
But perhaps Barry’s true passion lies in mentoring and motivating other creative people to perform at their absolute best. More coach than manager, the evidence of his ability can be seen in the provocative and original advertising Barry’s teams create in every medium, every day.
Barry holds dual degrees in Advertising and Psychology from Syracuse University. When not dreaming up ideas at the office, Barry can be found at home playing hockey in the backyard with his wife and two sons.
